Communication Tips
1. Design a communication strategy, ideally before the Hone program launches.
Plan when and how to inform each stakeholder group in your organization about the Assessment.
See the following page for an example.
2. Communicate early, broadly, and frequently to promote awareness among all stakeholders. Research shows that it takes communicating something 7 times before it sticks! Your audiences may include:
- Learners who are enrolled in the Hone program
- Learners’ Managers with an interest in helping their teams grow and develop
- Learners’ Direct Reports and/or Colleagues who will be taking the Assessment
- HR / L & D Leaders with an interest in the ROI of Hone programs
- Executive Sponsor(s) who can champion participation in the Assessment; typically a Director, VP, or C-level leader who oversees your Learners’ department or team.
3. Focus on value. For each audience, communicate the purpose and benefits of the Assessment. Align the Assessment to your organization’s goals and initiatives. Keep in mind the unique interests of each stakeholder group, and tailor your message accordingly. See the following pages for templates you can use. For more tips, reach out to your Hone Customer Success Manager.

Subject: Investing in You: Hone’s Assessment
Hi team,
As you know, we partner with Hone to connect you with live virtual classes that help you level up your career and achieve your learning and development goals.
As part of your participation in [name of Hone program / Hone classes], in the next 1-2 weeks you will be prompted via email to complete Hone’s Impact Survey. This assessment will provide you with an understanding of which skills you have improved as a result of the program/classes, as well as areas of opportunity for further development. It is intended to support your growth and is not a performance evaluation tool.
This assessment is comprised of three kinds of questions:
1. Self-report questions that capture perceived behavior change
2. Capability-level questions to diagnose strengths and development areas
3. Skill-level questions to diagnose specific skills to focus on moving forward.
In addition to completing a self-assessment, you will be able to nominate 3 or more direct reports or colleagues to provide feedback on the new skills you learned. This week, please reach out to your feedback nominees to let them know they will be receiving an email from "hello@honehq.com" asking for their feedback. Remind them that their responses will be confidential and summarized in an aggregated report.
After you and at least 2 of your direct reports or colleagues have completed their Impact Surveys, you’ll be emailed a link to view your results on the Hone Platform. Your results will be shared with only you and are confidential.
Thank you for investing in your learning and development!
