Hone Slack Integration

Hone’s Slack integration helps employees always perform at their best by bringing on-demand coaching and timely reminders directly into where they work. Employees can chat with Hone’s AI coach anytime they need support and get alerts for upcoming Hone programs and classes all in Slack, making learning a seamless part of each workday.

Important Notes

• Marketplace Availability: The Hone Slack app is not currently listed in the Slack App Marketplace. Installation and configuration must be completed directly through your Hone admin settings.                 
• One Workspace per Account: Each Hone account can only connect to a single active Slack workspace at a time. If you need to update or change your connected workspace, you must first disable the current integration.

How it Works

Hone’s Slack integration keeps your team connected to learning and continuously supported through:

• AI coaching – Always-on support that helps learners navigate workplace challenges and find helpful Hone learning experiences.
• Program invites – Notifies learners when they’re added to a Hone learning program.
• Assigned classes – Lets learners know when a new Hone class is assigned to them.
• Class reminders – Sends reminders to learners 24 hours before and the day of class to keep learning top of mind.
• Check-Ins - Outreach that follows up on conversations had with Hone AI Coach.

How to Enable the Slack Integration

1. Log in to your Hone admin dashboard.
2. Navigate to Account Settings > Integrations.
3. Find the Slack Integration section and click Add to Slack.
4. Follow the prompts to authorize Hone to access your Slack workspace.
5. Once authorized, Hone will be connected to your workspace and ready to send notifications.

Please note: Ensure you have the necessary Slack admin permissions to install and approve new apps in your workspace.

What Learners Will Receive

After enabling the integration, Hone will send learners the following notifications via Slack:

Program Invitations

Learners will be notified when they are invited to a new learning program. 

Assigned Classes

Learners will receive notifications when a new class is assigned to them. 

Upcoming Class Reminders

• Day Before Reminder: A reminder will be sent 24 hours before the scheduled class start time.
• Day Of Reminder: A second reminder will be sent on the day of the class. 

All notifications are sent as direct messages from the Hone Slack app to the learner's Slack account linked to their Hone profile.

How to Disable the Slack Integration

If you wish to disconnect Slack from your Hone account:

1. Navigate to the Hone Admin Dashboard. 
2. Go to Account Settings > Integrations.
3. In the Slack Integration section, click Remove from Slack.
4. Confirm the disconnection when prompted.

This will immediately stop all future Slack notifications and disconnect Hone from your Slack workspace.

Hone AI Check-Ins in Slack

After a Hone AI interaction, Hone’s AI Coach keeps the conversation going. It intelligently determines when support will be most valuable and reaches out directly in Slack, either before or after a key moment.

For example, if you have provided insight that you are going to have an upcoming conversation with someone, you would get the following messages in Slack.

• Before: “Here’s the feedback script we discussed for your upcoming 1:1 with John.”
• After: “How did your 1:1 with John go?”

FAQ

• To integrate Slack, admin access will be required to access the Admin Dashboard to complete the integration.
• Hone AI Coach and Class Reminders / Class Invites are all available in the same Slack app.
• When Hone AI is enabled for learners at your organization, they will get a notification in the app.
• If an admin would like to test Hone AI Coach in Slack, admins can set Hone AI to 'Admin Only' to test the feature in Slack.
