The Manager Console provides a view that allows a learner’s manager to track the learner’s journey with Hone.
Managers do not require Admin access, Membership access, or participation in a Hone program or class. However, the Manager's email address must be added to the Hone platform.
To add a Manager:
- Use the learner upload feature in the admin platform or connect your HRIS.
- Learner upload feature: Enter the Manager’s information as a learner to display their full name and data. Managers will not receive email notifications during this upload process.
If your organization has SSO enabled, please contact your IT team to ensure the Manager has permission to access the Hone app.

Managers can also look further into the specific classes a learner has been assigned, enrolled in, and missed or completed by clicking on their name.
Manager and Learner Membership Self-Activation
Admins can now enable membership activation through two new ways, Managers being able to activate learners when assigning them a class and learners being able to activate themselves by registering for a class. This feature's default setting is 'Off' so admins must go into the Hone platform and select the permissions they would like enabled.
- By checking the 'Managers' box, Managers will be able to activate Membership access for one of their direct reports by assigning them a class.
- After assigning a class to a Learner, the Learner will be able to continue to explore to breadth of Hone's Membership Catalog
- By checking the 'Learners' box, Learners will be granted access upon clicking 'Register' for a Membership class in the Hone Catalog.
- This empowers Learners to explore Hone's Membership Catalog and register for classes without having to have Membership access activated by an Admin.

Assign a Class
Learners can now have a Membership class assigned to them by their Manager. Managers can assign classes either to all their direct reports or to specific individuals by selecting the checkbox, clicking 'Assign,' and choosing the appropriate Membership class.
Learners without Membership access can now be assigned a class. Managers will be able to identify whether a learner has Membership or not before assigning a class.
1. Learners with a greyed-out icon do not have Membership access.
2. Learners with a purple icon already have Membership access.

FAQ
- Managers can view their direct reports' learner data, including registered classes, missed classes, and attended classes. They can also see any outstanding actions an employee needs to take, such as enrolling in assigned classes or rescheduling classes, and send reminders to prompt employees to take action.
- If a learner has a new manager, a manual upload will need to be completed. If the organization has HRIS connected, the information will automatically update overnight.
- Uploading manager's information to Hone’s platform does not initiate a welcome email at this time.
- A manager can still access the Manager Console, even if they don’t have access to Hone Membership. However, without Membership, they won’t be able to take any Hone classes themselves. Managers with access to Private Programs can also use the Manager Console.
- If you have SSO set up in your Hone account, you'll want to ensure you provision these managers to have Hone access.
